Boundless Beauty

On the border of Southwest Drenthe and Southeast Friesland lies a vast nature reserve: Drents-Friese Wold National Park. In this six thousand hectare area, unspoiled nature is increasingly given space. And you can alternatively roam through endless forests, heaths, sand drifts, and stream valley grasslands. But don't forget that people have lived and settled here for more than 3000 years. Search for traces of megalith builders, small Celtic fields of the first farmers, burial mounds, or the wartime past.

Space for yourself

Without everyday hustle and bustle, there is room to focus on yourself. The Beneficial Nature provides an intense experience that you can undergo in a way that suits you. From relaxation by immersing yourself in the rugged nature to inspiration by being intrigued by the stories and cultural history of the characteristic village greens. Or the luxury of one of the quality catering establishments offering regional products and recipes.

(Getting) lost in nature

In the heart of National Park Drents-Friese Wold, you'll find almost no marked routes. Here, you let yourself be completely guided by nature, so you experience it to the fullest. You can get lost in the pure splendor of the park. Don't be surprised if you suddenly find yourself face to face with an animal. Exciting! Would you prefer to stay on the beaten path? Then opt for a marked route from the parking lots at the edges of the park or book an excursion with the ranger.
