The Province of Overijssel is providing 1,029,000 euros for the further development of the two National Parks, the Sallandse Heuvelrug and Weerribben-Wieden. With this contribution, the parks can continue to invest in areas such as nature experience, research, sustainable recreation, local products, and education in the coming years.
Financing
The parks will receive the contribution for the period 2025-2027. In the coming years, they will receive an annual contribution of 171,500 euros. The Provincial Executive will present a proposal in 2026 to extend the funding until 2030. With additional support from the province, the park organizations can continue their plans and maintain and preserve the facilities in the area.
